Should there be extra points to the first person to successfully complete eating 30 tacos and drinking 30 PBR's in 24 hours or less?

Ok, we need to decide who the judges are, we need at least 3 working in 3, 8 hour shifts, or 4 working in 6 hour shifts.

Who wants to volunteer?  We'll need to figure it out so the judges can help set the guidelines, I nominate $1.50 as a judge since he's clearly too much of a pussyface to compete.

Well, we could award points for each taco, 24 for each in the first hour, 23 in the second, and so forth.

The puking penalty holds through all 24 hours though (so if you eat all 20 in the first hour, if you puke in hour 24 it still counts against you).

I think that work in such a way that you get more points if you do your shit in under 24 hours... or as fast as you can.... though I'm not sure how much I like it.

Actually, It's probably be better to do it so that the points are awarded relative to the proximity of time that successive tacos are eaten in.

yeah, but the faster you go the more likely you are to invoke the puking penalty.

I don't understand why it just doesn't go one point for beer and one point for taco, after 24 hours whoever has the most points win.

after 24 hours whoever has the most points win.
I'd think that to win, as the challenge is 30 PBR's & Tacos, that also must be achieved.
So if the person who will get the most points, after 24 hours, has only drank 29 PBR's, then no one wins.

I like the idea of my progressively diminishing point scale, as if someone throws up, their points are reduced, giving the people that don't a chance to take the lead.

If you ate one taco, and drank one beer each hour, you'd end up w/ a score of 600 points.

Obviously, not completing all 30 tacos and PBRs would result in disqualification.

Except you'd have to have a minimum of 60 points to even pass the challenge, and that would consist of 30/30 in the final hour.

I like the freedom that the challenge presents, it's more strategic and tests your stamina and endurance as opposed to your overall capacity for mass to be wedged into  your future corpse.

While that's true you'd have to have a minimum of 60, there is a good chance that you could have a lot more points (and maybe the most points) and still not win if you do not successfully eat all the tacos and drink all the Pabst.

One could over-due it early on in the hopes of getting more points per taco or beer... pass out too long and not be able to catch up by the time 24 hours is reached... while a "slow and steady" gets less points, but actually completes the challenge to win.

It does add an element of strategy... I like it.

You do realize if we say each taco weighs a 8 oz  and a beer is twelve ounces. That's 35.5 pounds in your gut.

I don't know that the beer actually weighs 12 ounces...
It's measured in 12 FLUID ounces, which I don't believe has anything to do with weight.

Does the challenge state that you can't puke?

If not, you could eat all 30 tacos, and drink all 30 beers in the first hour, puke, and win.

You could also have less than 60 points in this case, as if you waited until the final hour, ate all that crap and then puked, you would successfully finish, but have 60-PukePenalty points.  If nobody else finished, you'd win with less than 60 points.

Actually beer is usually about 5% heavier than water which makes one fluid ounce slightly more than one avoirdupois ounce

I agree.  I think the likelihood of someone eating all 30 tacos (of course depending on size) is much less likely than someone completing all 30 beers.  So, there should be some sort of winner, even if not all of said items are completed.

I do, however, like the idea of points increasing a few times throughout the day, like having a power hour in which one receives double points.  We could even spin a wheel or something to determine the number of points for each hour so the competitors could take a gamble on when they would like to do their most binge eating/drinking.

Also, I would like to be a judge

Really.... I'm not sure which I think is less likely to be completed... the beers or the tacos

So, there should be some sort of winner, even if not all of said items are completed.

I don't agree with that... This is as much a self-challenge as it is a competition with other people.  If no one actually eats 30 tacos and drinks 30 beers in 24 hours, the one who did best still gets some bragging rights, but can't claim to have mastered the challenge at hand.
