There were probably some Jedi worshipers back in the day.

Perhaps believing in "The Force" would be more accurate to saying "I'm a Jedi"?

What those asshats seem to be foregetting is you can't just call yourself a Jedi, it takes a life time of training, and they clearly are not in tune to the force, i'm sure their  midi-chlorian count isn't even very high!

Who said they claim to be a Jedi. They just announced it as their religion. They could worship Jedi, or the man on the moon. It's not the same thing.

Because they're saying "I'm a Jedi" when they mark religion, they don't mark "Christ" and say "I'm a Christ".  Nobody worships Jedi you weirdo.

You can't prove that russ.

What, no footage of the laser beam?  They just set that boat on fire, filmed it, and some asshole pocketed the $2 billion it cost to develop the 'technology'.

Game night was fun thanks to everyone that came out. Ticket to ride Euorpe is a pretty good game.

Did anyone else watch Game of Thrones last night? I was wondering what people thought who didn't read the books. From what I read people were having trouble keep track of the all the Characters. That's how it starts in the books too. And then once you do remember them all they throw in about 30 more.

I'll probably end up watching it next weekend at some point, I haven't read the books yet. I was gonna watch it last night, but we decided to use our one TV night for the week watching a few episodes of Black Adder.

I watched it last night on the new TV (woo!), and it wasn't bad.  I didn't have too much trouble keeping track of who all the characters are, but the relationships, or "power struggle" for the throne as it were, remains a little hazy.  I'll check it out again, but I wouln't say I'm hooked yet.

That being said, the new season of Treme comes out next week, and that's my shit.

The full power struggle hasn't happened yet. Keep watching. I think they should of had a two hour premier so you could get more of an idea about the Characters. But after a few episodes you hopefully they will be able to flesh them out a bit more and hook in people that are not fans of the books. As you said there wasn't enough to really draw you in yet. Did the ending surprise you?

I thought the casting was phenomenal, the scenery and sets were amazing, Peter Dinklage was badass as Tyrion as I'd hoped and the acting/plot/loyalty to the books were acceptable.  Based on the first episode  I'd give it 4/5.

The end did catch me a little off guard, but it made a great cliffhanger for next week.

3.5/5

Just felt like it was lacking something. And some of the scenes looked like obvious sets to me, I dunno I think I had really high expectations. But after the credits they showed some previews of what's to come and I was interested. I'm not sure how I feel about the Hound, his armor was kinda comical.

I was curious what those who were not already familiar with the Characters thought. And if they were surprised about the Bran scene like I remember being when reading it. I was all like WTF that's sick, and then OMG what a dick!

They really didn't draw attention to Sandor Clegane as the Hound, or Jaime being nicknamed as Kingslayer. Arya just kept asking where the Imp was.

Paco, most of the chapters that dwell with one place or a group of people end in cliffhangers like that. And I actually told Felicia that I bet that is where the first episode will end. They annoying part in the books is that you then have to read like 150 pages to get back to find out what happened. But by that time you are now drawn into a new storyline that ends in the cliffhanger. I think that's why people end up not putting down the books.

Yeah, I see your point, but with the amount of shit they had to take out of the first 1/12th of the book, they still had to hold some stuff back, there were also zero flashbacks of any kind.

However, your 3.5 is an insult and I demand you amend your score! AMEND YOUR SCORE SIR!

3.75?

If I was new to this series my interest would be perked. But not more so then what it was when I watched the first 2 hour episode of the borgias, in fact maybe less so. But since I know where the series will head I am in fact more drawn towards it. I'm trying to be unbiased.
