The other thread was getting a bit crusty so I figured I'd start a new discussion, focusing on how we're all going to feed ourselves for bulls camping weekend extravaganza and travelling band. I was thinking that Friday could be like picnic style shit, Hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad and the like, that way people can eat at their leisure as they arrive and on into the evening, then Saturday we could do it up proper like old timey cowboys or something. Discuss and I'll use this OP as a sign-up sheet/ shopping list. Friday Dinner:Chicken wings - tbd -Sean is indeed bringing the no oil fryer with necessary wing accessories -Homesystem has volunteered to bring a sauce Burgers - tbd Hot Dogs - tbd Sides: -Potato Salad - tbd -Macaroni Salad - tbd -Baked Beans - tbd Snacks: EVERYONE BRING TWO, (Chips pretzels etc) Saturday Lunch(?): Saturday Dinner: -BYO steak -We should probably have something additional as well, side dish style. Beer: Nick - Barleywine Other booze: -Half Barrel of yuengling $81 ( http://www.savemorbeer.com/products_beer_kegs.htm) -Ice ~ $10 -ICB Materials: $85 -Case of Guiness $40 -Bottle of Jamesons $30 -Bottle of Baileys $15

Could you be more specific? How many total cases should we get? Maybe an 8 gallon of something decent and like 5 cases of random beer?

Umm okay, I have a case made up of 4 bottles of each of these beers. Yards Brewing Company Extra Special Ale St Pauli Girl Special Dark Church Brew Work's Pious Monk Dunkel Lager Long Trail Brewing Company Harvest Brown Ale Breckenridge Brewery Autumn Ale Brooklyn Brewery Brooklyn Oktoberfest At the end of this month I should also be receiving another case of beer made up random octoberfest beers. I can bring both of these cases if people would like me to. Or we can just get John to pickup a keg/party ball of Yueng. Or both.

I guess the way I saw it is that we should have a keg of something that it is understood that some bit of each person's $75 contribution paid for. Beyond that, we can each bring something special if we want to.
I think one keg of Yueng would be good for 13 of us (if the list on the OP of the OT is up to date). That's ~165 (12 oz) beers, so that would be ~12 beers per person for the weekend. That's not counting any other beers, liquor, barleywine that people may have.
I agree with Bull that a keg would be much simpler than cases for "quantity" beer. Especially if we have to pack out the trash at the end of the weekend.
Bull - I wouldn't bring those nice beers unless you want to IMHO. I have a feeling that people are gonna be drinking heavily, and why waste decent beers (except for the barleywine which was brewed with this kind of debauchery in mind). Also, if we all start drinking nothing but craft beer, we're all gonna be passed out by 10 PM

An 8 gallon? Sorry, quarter barrel. Up north we called em by their approximate volume. But yeah, I agree with Nick, Bull it sounds like those are a bit on the "nice side" and it's up to you if you want us to consume them all, because they will be consumed fo' sho'. I guess the way I saw it is that we should have a keg of something that it is understood that some bit of each person's $75 contribution paid for. This was assuming that I get money from more than 10 mofos, which I have not, so those not denoted as "paid the fuck up" on the OT need to get they checkbooks out and buy beer and food or at least prepare to pay back those of yall who are doing the purchasing.

Friday Dinner:
Saturday Lunch(?):
Saturday Dinner: BYO steak
Beer: Nick - Barleywine
Other booze:
As far as food goes- I think you're right that it makes sense to do the BYOSteak dinner on Saturday night- so maybe the wing cooking could happen on Friday night as a complement to the other picnic-style shit. I'm down with whatever beer you want to buy... I'll bring some Old Crow as well.

I'm not even on the list of attendees yet. If I mail a check now, will you get it before the event, or should I just bring you $ at this point?

So by my calculations (from looking at the list of attendees and counting Matt as per his post), you should have 7 people paid up by now (out of 14 total), thus needing 3 more just to cover the costs of the place. If everyone pays, other than Bull, we should have (13*$75 = $975) minus the rental ($750) = $225 to spend on food and beer. A half barrel of Yuenging is ~$80
Nye had mentioned making ICBs in the last thread, I would be down for that as well. Case of Guinness ~ $35, with the Bailey's and Jameson that's probably $40 more.
I don't want to get ahead of ourselves though, the keg beer is probably all we need mutual money to go towards, well that and maybe bags of chips (both kinds), pretzels, salsa, other snacks.
