So I won't go as crazy as dearest Nick, (even though it was awesome and very helpful) But there are some things I want to make sure people bring, and know about before you go. It's only two weeks away!!!! Chincoteague not only has hungry horses (but only Paco will have to worry about that) It's also a bird sancuary. That means they don't spray very often for mosquitos. These mosquitos are freaking tough bastards. BRING BUG SPRAY We ussally get the "deep woods off" I figure my yearly DEET intake is alright. BRING ALCOHOL It's fucking expensive down there. By the end of the week (or second day...yes we are alcoholics on this trip) But atleast give yourselves some buffer. You definatly can buy alcohol right on the island, and Jon might even deliver it to you on his Bob, however...Be cheap, buy in WV of PA. FISHING Big Bea (my mom's best friend since they were  and her husband John Woody will be down there. Fishing with John is one of the greatest joys in this world, but you have to wake up at 6am. I am defiantly going out atleast one day to catch my own fish. Let me know if you are interested. You can also cast your line right on the beach. I have no idea how you do it. But we have brains and as long as zombies don't eat them. I am sure we can figure it out. FISH! Best fish in the entire world. AND ITS CHEAP AS ANYTHING. I will give you directions to the best fish markets in town. They're little and I only know them by landmarks. BLACK FLIES. If the wind is blowing iinland and not off shore you will be covered in black flies in two point four seconds. That might be a day you decided to do something different than chillin on the beach. |

I don't know....but I will call John and find out...I don't think so...I have never seen John nor Gordon ever approached by anyone demanding anything and I have been going to the beach with them and fishing since I was 3....
On John's boat he has all the stuff you need.

I'd say bring some kind of long pants and long-sleeve shirt when you go to the beach just in case. Your other alternative is to go into the water. (Which is what Ponce did... that bastard still didn't want to leave the beach even when we'd been dealing with the black flies for like an hour.)

Yes, Jon has been practicing hard holding his flask, cigar and a put-put stick....I think he's got it down pat. As a fine southern lady who will be drinking cosmos and gossiping with the girls under umbrella's and maybe putting up a friendly little bet as we play bridge....I do believe Jonny will come out on top.

TRAINS, PLANES AUTOMOBILES AND BIKES
The island is freakin' tiny. And Biking onto the beach is a blast. You can also rent scooters and other tiny things that go.
But if you do decide to take a car to the beach it's a ten buck pass for the whole week.

So after reading/skimming through the original thread, i realize that I don't have a clue where i'm staying. I was operating under the ASSumption that I was staying with the Sean/Sarah contingent, but I think i misinterpreted the phrase "poppin off the hizzy" or something.
