I don't know- the Assateague shoreline might be significantly different (and maybe smaller) the next time we're there- you'd have to think there'd be some serious flooding in the town, too... hopefully it isn't quite as big as they're projecting it when it hits there.. or it moves out to sea.

Grab your boogie boards. It's time for some serious waves.
Come with me if you want to see some serious non-pussy waves

I really, really do hope that area gets a pass.  It makes me sad to think of that place getting wiped out.

Those waves will definitely not be bullshit.. or pussy-assed.. or whatever Ponce's preferred term was this year.

Caught me some sweet waves last weekend at Bellows Beach.  Yeah, it's an airforce base that is only for recreational purposes, what of it?  They have putt putt.  And frolf... and you can rent boogie boards and shit.

Yeah, I kind of look at that like renting flip flops or something...gross.  Also, is that the beach next to the leper colony?

No, that's on a different island.

Also, Fuck Shitty was talking about renting actual turds.  Renting boogie boards is ok, the salt water keeps them clean... unless there is a sewage spill nearby then you gotta worry about the aptly named, "brown water".

It looks like Chincoteague itself made it through mostly unscathed. I couldn't find any reports on Assateague though.

So, it appears as though our beloved beach may be closed and moved a few miles up the coast.  Stupid rising sea levels.

Town residents point to a local survey that found that 82 percent of respondents said they would not come to Chincoteague if they had to load their beach stuff onto a shuttle.

I would have to agree with the 82%.

But the new location, near the swamp and pine of the refuge, has a major drawback that, after coaxing, Hinds acknowledged.

“Mosquitoes would be a big problem here, I have to admit,” he said.

BOB trailer and bike would be better than a shuttle, but 82% would probably disagree with me

There's always Assateague.

Technically, all these planned changes are taking place on Assateague.  And Chincoteague isn't happy about it.  And I don't blame them.

But, thanks to Mother Nature, it's going to be a bunch of shit no matter what.

...and only accessible by (correct me if my estimations are wrong) what would be 12 hours of flying and quite a bit more $. It would be pretty darn cool though.

Not to mention the black biting flies- and I'd assume that some of the prehistoric-sized insects that you see on that loop bike trail might be around too.

I think it's been above 90 twice in the last year and a half, and I wouldn't know about the second part.
