I don't know that I share his optimism that it has a chance to start not sucking.

we're gonna be at this GauleyFest thing for most of the weekend, but will be back in time for kickoff on Sunday - what were folks planning on doing for the game?

Unless someone else comes up with another plan, I guess I'll be at Sidelines.

I suppose at this point I agree with Paco... the default plan is Sidelines, unless something else comes up.

As an asides, I'd just like to say their wings last night were especially good.

I know that Sidelines is the probable destination for the game, but Chris wanted me to let you know that she is working Remedy for the game and that she'd have the chef create a special for yinz if you came there. Also, they seem to have adopted a laissez faire attitude toward smoking, so smoke 'em if you've got 'em.

If peeps are down with it, I have no problem with a change of venue.
(Also especially since I'm usually @ Sidelines on Wednesdays anyway)

I'll probably stay at the lines.  The only TV I've seen at Remedy is the little one over the bar.

Bryce,

What are you doing for the next Steelers game since it's also Rosh Hashanah?

Despite the loss, I think Leftwich played pretty good - though the decision to go for it on that 4th down at the end was very poor - though wouldn't that be more of a Tomlin decision? Given, it was a long shot that - with around 1:30 left, they could have got the field goal, kicked onside, recovered and scored a TD - but it would have been nice to have that chance.

That was definitely an error in judgment.

That said, when ya play like shit, ya should expect to lose.

Do we even have an offensive line?  They fell apart big time.

I think some of them couldn't afford the Turnpike toll all the way to Philly.

They had better get their shit together for next Monday.

Besides the sacks, the false starts were costly too

On the defensive side - Polamalu did very well

Yeah he did.

Jeff Reed achieving a 53 yard field goal was pretty good too.

Our offense pretty much threw that one in ye olde shitter.

The offensive line better get it together on Monday or Ray 'Stabby' Lewis and co. will make things shitty.
We can't have the Stillers losing on Erev Rosh Hoshanah.

Ehh I guess I'm not getting rid of Mendenhall then...

Willie Parker or not, the Ravens have a fairly decent run defense, so I think passing was going to be more of the plan of attack against them anyways

I hope that we're not witnessing the beginning of what could turn into a really shitty season.

Chill out Debbie Downer...

Crazy things happen during a season, the Dolphins just pummeled the Pats, the Colts, Chargers, Jags, and the Seahawks (all playoff teams last year) have losing records, Tom Brady is out for the season, Buffalo is 3-0, no players from the Bengals have been arrested yet...

The Ohio teams are both 0-3 (though they'll settle that next week) and the Ravens have a rookie QB that has gotten lucky so far. We're still better than the fuckin Ravens...

Nothing is fucked... you're being very un-dude.  I am a little disappointed about Willie Parker, though... I thought he made it through last Sunday pretty well.

I'd like to think that they could both manage to not score any points off each other thru both regulation and overtime.

Wow, you all really overreacted.  A hope that the season doesn't get shitty is far from being "debbie downer".

Certainly the way the offense performed (or didn't) on Sunday is cause for concern; we will be playing some really tough teams this year and will need to improve to compete.

we have 5 more games against the Bungs, the Browns, and the Ravens...
add 2 more wins from our remaining schedule and we make the playoffs...

And if Miami (1-15 last year) can beat New England, I like our chances (as long as last week doesn't become a weekly thing) in that game.
