We just had meeting about this yesterday since we're trying to figure out a way to close our office and operate remotely for the 24th and 25th. So they went through all of the shit that they know is going on around our office, and all I could think about is how bad it's gonna suck for Jeebas.

You've got my simpathy sir.

That's gonna be pretty bad, but I'd be more worried about they fact that nobody can park downtown so they're telling everyone to park on the northside. So getting in and out of the northside is gonna be a bitch.

Yeah... I may not have to deal directly with the lower Northside and downtown streets, but I'm considering using a day off for this shit, just to avoid the hassle.

There are also going to be "rolling street closures" and whatever day they go to the Warhol you can forget about getting anywhere near the lower northside.

There is also going to be a pre-G20 summit at Heinz Field on the 23rd that's probably going to fuck with people's commutes.

I may just work from home those days - at the very least Morgan's daycare is right up the street or he could just stay home with me - but I wouldn't get any work done.

I'm off on the 25th- I might bike down to the north side and walk into downtown just to see what's going on.

http://angrydrunkbureaucrat.blogspot.com/2009/09/g-20-visitors-guide-pt-1.html

I found this funny... and kinda true

Quote
Pittsburgh is a city of about 350,000 people in the Southwestern Pennsylvania region of the United States; the population of the metropolitan area is roughly 2.4 million, although only 350,000 of them are actual "Pittsburghers," with the rest being an unclassified subspecies. If you travel outside of the region, you will also find people that refer to themselves as "Pittsburghers" and show some of the same characteristics of "Pittsburghers" but they are not technically "Pittsburghers" -- they are traitors.

Take that Jon, Sean, Sarah, Bob, Kim and whoever else doesn't live in the city.

2.4 million minus 350,000 leaves a little over 2 million of us traitors.  I like those odds - wanna battle?

You think CMU has the technology to create an army of Bull clones? That would shut those suburbanites up pretty quick.

Actually no, that big forclosure house smelled like sewage and the neighbors had like 8 cars parked on their front lawn. Plus the doors were broken into and some of the windows were broken.

But I also looked at another house that I didn't have high hopes for from looking at the pictures online, and was really surprised by it. It's in verona and is in great shape right on the border or Oakmont (which is a nice place to walk around and stuff) They already had an offer, so I threw out what I thought was a respectable offer and they took it. I don't see any problems arising in the inspection this time either as I went over it pretty thoroughly.

I dunno so far it's kinda nice... cheaper transfer tax, my local tax will now be a lot lower. If I was fitty I would be having a huge boner right now.
