So this really has nothing to do with Chicago or Brew Festival - but it is that time of year for March Madness.  I am putting together another random bracket contest for anyone interested (last year it was just Bob, Paco, Gregor and myself).  The way it works is I need to have any number of people divisible into 64 (i.e. 4, 8, 16...).  Then, everyone is randomly assigned an equal number of teams and whoever's team wins, wins all the money.

For example, last year since there was 4 of us, we each got 16 teams.  I find it to be more fun that filling out a bracket cuz you end up cheering for teams you normally wouldn't give a shit about.

$5 per entry - winner take all.

It's a great bar to "go for a drink". It's cheap and as Bull pointed out you get to drink from jars.

To go for "a drink" or to go "to drink"? - completely different things   Grin - I'm definitely gonna stop down there at some point though

I think he was trying to say for "a drink" as opposed to "to drink".
As in; it's good for a drink or two, but it isn't necessarily "where the drinkin' is".

I said go for a drink because that's what Jeebas said.

Max's Allegheny Tavern? I love that place though I never really went there to drink, though it doesn't strike me as a "go for a drink" kind of establishment. I'm headin there for dinner next Friday, should be a nice, short walk Smiley

Truth be told you probably either go for a drink there or get fucked up.

Ahh OK to clear that up in my original post - when I wrote "go for a drink" I meant "go for a night of drinking" as in I have never gone there for a night of drinking. I had beer there with dinner, but almost every time I have been there it was some kinda family thing so I never looked at prices.

I'd like to check that out, and see how the Park House is now - If they aren't really making food there anymore, it shouldn't still reek of fryer grease, correct? Did it smell when you were down there last, Bull?

I dunno about any other bars down on East Ohio though... Judging from the so polite and well-mannered members of society that filter past our house at 2 AM I don't know that I wanna check out that scene.

Yeah, I think you've only got 2 viable options. It's a bit of a walk, but you can go to Mullen's for Iron and Eggs.

Last time I was there they didn't even have a fryer. So no, no stink.

you can go to Mullen's for Iron and Eggs.

I assume that's the place we went for breakfast after playing the Walk for the Homeless thing at Heinz Field?? (Which was also the morning after the Hilltoppers gig where I had a beer or 2 more than I should've beforehand, making that breakfast more appreciated.)
Because that place was all right.  I was down wit it.

I mean Mullin's by the 16th Street Bridge, not the Mullen's that used to be Hi Tops.

That's the place. I haven't been there since I lived in the Strip, and I really need to go back. Good breakfast/lunch and cheap Iron City.

Yeah, I really can't either- but I guess I can look at an online bracket every day or so- it really can't be more of a waste of time than lots of other things I do every day online.

That wasn't college basketball - that was the NBA. And it was only because the band was too loud for us to carry on a normal conversation Tongue

ehh I'm generally disinterested in any college sports - too many teams/rule differences from the professional version of the game.

Now pro sports - I watch more and more football every year, I probably watched about 30-35 games last year. I watch the Pens when I can, but definitely not the same way I watch football. Basketball I've never really liked, and baseball (to me) is utterly boring.

There are times (as mentioned in my last post), when I'm in a bar and a TV is right in front of me, and I can't hear because of music, or I am waiting by myself for someone at bar, that I will watch almost anything that's on.

I think college football is much faster paced and a more enjoyable game to watch. Except for the whole overtime thing.
