So, since Sarah is pregnant, and I'm immunodeficient for a while, neither of us are really allowed to be changing kitty litter for 4-6 months.
Since it's not feasible for someone to come over daily and do that jounx for us for half a year (maybe longer), we've decided that it's probably best to find Ivan a new home.
Any takers?
If not, I believe that Animal Friends would take him back (eventually), but we'd rather he go to a nice house.
He's pretty quiet, acts kind of stoned sometimes (the Manuts' will testify to that), and likes some wet food and drinking from the shower tap.
This is the cat that Animal Friends used to use to see how other cats or dogs react to cats, since Ivan kind of just sits there and ignores other animals (though he's more playful now, he might do well with some other animal company).
He comes with a litter box, scratching post, and all other cat jounx we've amassed over the last year or so.
Holler if interested, or if there are any other questions.

Would this be a permanent home or just until all is well again in the Steindl household?

Probably until March or so, after baby arrives and we're "settled", and Sarah would be able to handle the kitty litter (and baby, while she's resting). If Ivan and baby don't get along, we'll probably just give him away permanently.
Our worst case scenario is taking him back to Animal Friends, where we know he'll be at least fed and interacted with on occasion (and possibly find a good home).

First... You have a cat?
Yes, we got a cat from Animal Friends almost a year ago now, and named him Ivan. Yes, my penis works, verified about 24 weeks ago, name pending (for baby, not penis).

Sorry Nye, and anyone else, who was left out of the loop.
With other groups of people, it was our experience that we only had to tell one person, and let the news spread itself.
Hey, at least yinz aren't a bunch of gossiping mofos. Kudos to yinz for that.
Now if this was some shit-talkin', Nye would have heard that months ago.

Best part was when gregor told me, Bryce and I were coming down from our magical beach trip and I couldn't follow what "my penis works" meant. So he had to just come out and tell us.

thankfully when he told me, he hadn't conjured up that witty approach yet - he just said "sarah is sleeping for two"

I think that before he came out and told us he also put his fist inside his shirt in a pregnancy-portraying gesture.

Kim and I are talking about it. Toby may be an issue, though. Not sure how he would react, seeing as how he's fucking insane.

Introducing Mouse to Jake (who hates other cats) wasn't too bad. We locked them both into a room, with the new cat in a cage, for several hours. Let them sniff each other's asses. Then we let them free... They tolerate each other.
That said, I don't think that we could handle another cat right now, although, oddly, we are looking at dogs.

We'll call you this weekend. As long as the two cats can get along, we can take care of him while the two of you are "settling" as you put it.

Sunday is our anniversary, so we probably won't be coming over and watching football all day (though it was a good idea, as far as having a lot of time for the cats to socialize).
