So this Saturday my friend/bandmate Chuck and his wife Hillary are throwing their annual Luau. It's basically a big party up at their house in Bell Acres (in between Sewickley and Wexford). They have a lot of property and everyone camps out and parties til all hours. It starts at 6 and dinner usually gets going around 7-8ish. They always do deep fried turkey and lots of other stuff. They always have a bonfire and a few kegs and whatnot as well. I have been going since 2006 and its always a really good time. I think I tried to get people to go last year, but I think folks were either at Joe.Down or doing something else. He is gonna have the preseason game on as well. Its really easy to get to, so if folks are interested, PM/email me and I can give you directions

I've heard good things about deep fried turkey, though I can't say I've had any yet.

Can Ponce get a deep fried turkey wing with some buffalo sauce on it?

I can't decide if Bull was angry at Ponce for making a comment about Trader Horn, or was just lashing out because he doesn't have the necessary means to deep-fry a turkey...

If anyone else (besides the people I already emailed/IMed) are planning on going to this, or even maybe planning on it - let me know (y'all know my email address) and I'll email you the directions. I don't wanna describe how to get there over the phone. GMaps makes it pretty easy

I'm on the fence about making it.  We'll see how I feel after all of the bullshit tomorrow.  I know I'll want a beer or sixty, but I don't know how far I'll want to go to get it.

Yeah, I'm in.  It'll be nice to drink a lot after spending 5 hours in a biology class.  What should I bring?

you have a biology class on a Saturday?

Well it is basically a big party where you are welcome to (and encouraged) camp out afterwards, so if you plan on getting toe' up I would bring a tent, maybe a camping chair (though there always seems to be a lot of chairs), Generally there's 2-3 kegs of domestic beer (i think there's usually a keg of yuengling as one of the selections) and then there's some liquor and mixers. I believe they also normally have a cooler full of cans of pop as well. As far as food, you don't really have to bring anything. But if you wanted anything else to drink (iced tea, lemonade, any other soft beverages OR if you want to bring some craft beer) I would bring a small cooler (though there's really no need)

That all being said you should be good just bringing a tent Smiley

Is this event a pseudo-family thing?  Or is it mostly just us "younger" folks?

there will be some of chuck and hillary's families there, yes. But 80% of the people there are friends and our age group (mid twenties to mid thirties)
