This has been an especially painful end of the season this year.  Nothing left to do now except count down to 100 losses and wait till spring training.

another loss Sad

Yeah, that was pretty dull.  After a few minutes I was trying to figure out the Pens jersey the kid was wearing.  It's Georges Laraque if you're curious.

Pretty sweet deal for the Bucs to pick up the Japanese Freddy Sanchez yesterday in return for a relief pitcher.

And I read that he will be the highest paid Pirate, at $4M a year.  Hey, we might actually hit $30M payroll at some point.   Roll Eyes

It'll probably be $32mil+ once arbitration kicks in...

I would rather lose 99 games with a $32 million payroll than 90+ games with a $150 million payroll (Mets!)

I remain confident that once there is a good foundation of talent (some) money will be spent on missing pieces, ala the 2008 Brewers

If you figure that in the end we traded Freddy Sanchez and Jesse Chavez for Iwamura and Tim Alderson, I think I'd call that a win for the Bucs.  (Or at least has the potential to be a winning deal.)

They will definitely have to get some bullpen help now, though.

You might as well just give it to him now.  Those fuckers won't be anywhere near .500 until we get some new owners.
