Well... it's gotta be better than the fucking Hatetrix... for damn sure. I'm sure that it's run by the owners of Privilege Ultralounge is a good sign.

With cheap real estate and a constant influx of inexpensive and eager fresh blood from the universities, companies should be salivating to move in here without subsidies
alas, we'd onerously tax them until they'd threaten to leave and then we'd bestow tax exempt status upon them... or give them half a mil

Keeps the finance people like me happy though. The more convulted the finance situation is, the demand there is for me. That's why I love Pennsylvania and especially Pittsburgh.

What kind of incentives would they have to give to get a franchise of The Distinguished Wakamba to move into Station Square?

I wasn't sure what you were talking about, so I googled it. For those not in the know: "In search of the dive-y-est NYC dive bar, I've seen the inside of many a beer soaked bar. This bar, The Distinguished Wakamba, is not beer soaked, not dark, not dingy, but it sure is a dive. It's just a little too close to the bus station, the bartenders barely speak english (spanish is preferred), and the decor is a scary Gilligan's Island meets addict-under-the-bridge. Of course I've been here quite a few times just to be sure it is as bad as I suspected the last time. It is."

And I also don't think they totally know their drink prices. The first night we went there I had a White Russian for $6. That same White Russian the next night cost $9-$10.

The best line in that review is probably: Of course I've been here quite a few times just to be sure it is as bad as I suspected the last time. It is."

I walk by there occasionally while I'm at work... one of these days the stars will align and I'll be on my way home during one of these times and I'll stop in for a drink.

Aaaah, the Wakamba. It was our preferred bar during the time when we recorded "Ponce Solo Album Live at the Port Authority Bus Terminal"

"Live on a roof next to the Port Authority Bus Terminal" would be more accurate.

Not usually, that place is right by the bus station, and it's a pretty touristy area so shit is escalated there. Thats not one of the better "dive" bars, in new york it's good to be a dive bar, but that place is just shitty.
