I'm guessing it has something to do with the shitty rain, Pirates game, and Pens game coinciding in the same afternoon.

http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/pittsburgh/s_675680.htmlSome info on bullshit people may or may not find useful for the weekend. Personally, the biggest potential pain in the ass is the complete closure of the Northbound (upper) deck of the Ft. Duquesne Bridge.

Yeah, mine was doing the same I have used tape to keep it on the windshield. Sometimes it helps to work for a tape company.

I had to bust out the scotch tape to fix mine. Glad to know the $70 or whatever we pay for inspection is going towards such quality materials

Well, according to the article, only $4 of that $70 goes toward the sticker (which probably still has a 300% markup).

I did notice that the other day on the drive to work and they are due in June. I just figured they got the company making the tape to make it degrade so it was easier to peel off after a year?

http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/pittsburgh/s_687399.htmlAs long as they don't postpone that Rt. 28 shit.... Also, we'll see if they invest ANY money on a Davis Ave. bridge replacement in 2012.

They are simply talking about funds for a bridge "design" allocated two years from now. Actual production may not begin until you have grandchildren.

Quite frankly, I'll be surprised if they ever replace it.
Not saying for sure that they won't... just don't think it will happen. The city should have fixed the old one enough for it to have been able to safely function as a pedestrian/bike bridge before it got too bad... but that's all in the past now.

$700,000 in 2012 to design a replacement for the Davis Avenue Bridge in Brighton Heights, brought down in an emergency demolition last summer.
I understand its an engineering thing and everything has to be exact, but $700,000? They're never building that bridge again... It would be convenient to pedestrians to get to the park, but the main use of the bridge would be cars trying to get up to Perrysville Ave and points north from BH and wanting to avoid Woods Run, and the road the comes down out of the park is not exactly safe to begin with.

The west newton bridge was closed down. (Felicia's hometown) It's a really strange situation as I don't think there are any bridges nearby to detour to. Since the town is on both sides of the river it now means half the town doesn't ahve police or a way to get kids to school. The other half has ambulances though. I think they should revolt and become east newton.

I saw something about that on the news yesterday. The reporter mentioned that it is now a thirteen mile trip from one side of town to the other.

Also the way it's worded, it sounds like that 700k is just for the design (I'm assuming it's the cost of the new bridge though?)

I talked to someone recently about the pedestrian bridge in Allegheny Commons (near the deer statue) that has been closed dahn for years. They were complaining that the city didn'y have the $500K to rebuild that bridge, and it is only 30 feet long. Fucking bridges, whatta racket!
