I suppose this isn't that surprising.
But I have to believe that Ohio is even worse.

In the long run, this should simplify things.
In the short term (and especially until they get the signs up) it might be even more confusing.

It all seems kinda silly to me.  I mean who really gives a crap whether it's 279 or 376?  That money could be better spent elsewhere.

Here's the proposed complete "I-376 corridor" - http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=41.18481,-80.443654&daddr=40.516931,-80.271606+to:40.435225,-79.751344&hl=en&geocode=FSpudAId-oY0-w%3B%3BFRn-aAIdUBc_-w&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=10&via=1&sll=40.578499,-80.098572&sspn=0.774968,1.235962&ie=UTF8&ll=40.810691,-80.098572&spn=1.544547,2.471924&z=9

Though I think its gonna take them some time to get 22/30 and 60 up to snuff to be considered an "interstate"

Which is somewhat ironic, seeing as most of current I-376 has never been up to "interstate" standards either.
The section from Penn Hills to the Turnpike in Monroeville may be, but the rest of it is just as substandard as the future 376 between I-79 and the 60/Business 60 split in Moon.

Actually, Now that they've done that work with the I-79 interchange, I think all they have to do is rebuild the 22/30/60 cloverleaf in Robinson.  Which they're gonna start on any time.

PennDOT recommends that fans going to the New Kids on the Block show allow themselves extra time or find an alternate route.

I would recommend a route to kill yourself if you're a New Kids fan.

I don't know if it's the reason why, but traffic on the Parkway East into downtown was backed up to the B-Ham bridge.  I figured leaving work an hour early to go to the salvage yard would be plenty of time, but I barely made it.

I would hope a NKOTB show wouldn't cause that shit though.

Yesterday I tried an alternate route home, which was kind of half-assed, but got us home earlier than normal.

I went across the Ft Pitt bridge and stayed in the right lane that exits to Carson St (avoiding the people trying to merge to go through the tunnels), then turned and went through Station Square to the Wabash Tunnel.

We were home earlier than we had been when the West End bridge traffic was normal.

Some I'm going to try it again today and see if I get the same result.

Coming back from west newton yesterday there were a shitload of police cars on the downtown side of the smithfield street bridge. I wonder what was going on.

That's interesting... the Ft. Pitt Bridge can take a while to get across sometimes though.  I actually used that same ramp yesterday to get from work to the salvage yard.

Well... traffic is right now is some of the shittiest I've ever seen it.
I imagine that last nights weather might have something to do with it. (Some roads are still closed, including some shit I'd use as an alternate route).
But I guess that THIS might have something to do with it as well:
