Is there some sort of reason for this?

I do believe Jeebas stated the reason in the first post.

That's a statement not a reason fuckhead... Don't ever try to correct me Ponce. Why is this the lat time, is Dee's closing, is Nick moving, is Sunday the end of the world. What makes this event note worthy? That's what I want to know you lame pickle dick.

Nick's moving to the D.C. area next week.
I thought that was widely-known shit by now.

Yeah I'm moving to northern VA on Monday, and given that very few people come out bowling anymore I thought Saturday would be my last chance to hang out with a lot of people n@ And everyone likes Dee's, there's never a cover and it's cheap

As much as I love Dee's, I don't know if I would pay a cover to go there...unless the cover included free strippers; then I'd consider it.

I'm retarded and don't know how to quote...but I have to say, Bull's response to Ponce was the most violent and hilarious response I've had the pleasure of reading in a long time. I believe it was "...lame pickle dick" that really did it for me.

As it stands now the plan is to head down there around 9 so as to grab some table-age in the downstairs...

I remember all the shit Dee's had about the smoking ban.... I wouldn't be surprised if they have some shit hanging up shit-talking the Onorato Tax.

There was a sign up behind the bar at Howlers on Saturday that featured Onorato and his cronies on it.  The text read, "Do not serve these people."  'Twas entertaining.

BTW - I was at Dee's on Friday and it didn't seem like their prices changed a whole lot due to the tax

I beg to differ. The price for a large pitcher of PBR has gone from 4.50 to 4.95. I'm no math-magician, but that's a %10 increase:) Also, the poster jpeg has been left at Copies on Carson for all of you desiring a full size 3'x5' poster of those taxing bastards. This info was relayed via the Blow-Up chair lady at Howlers.

I bet a lot of that tax is going to come from the bartenders/servers.... especially at Dee's since they don't do tabs.  A lot of people that just plunked down a $5 for a 4.50 pitcher of PBR (with the notion of "keep the change") probably won't fumble for the extra 45 cents now, and will still just lay a $5 down for the 4.95 pitcher.

Thats because they're jerk offs, toss an extra buck their way... here the standard tip is $1 per drink.

I have to say that when the "paying with a card" option is there, I take it. And then I leave a decent tip on the entire tab -- depending on how much I spent, how helpful the bartender was, if they actually poured me drinks or just opened bottles for me... I tend to get more than 5 drinks a night and I lose track of money if i tip after every beer

Dee's is about the only time I pay with cash
