No political shit to get in the way this week: When Stabler gets a call to help catch a trespasser, he's shocked when the clues lead him to a suspect in his own family: his daughter Kathleen (Allison Siko). Things get so bad that he seeks help from his estranged mother (Ellen Burstyn) as he tries to save his daughter. I don't know how much I like the personal/family drama type episodes. We'll see, though.

Not a whole lot of details in this weeks episode description A famous astronaut is found dead in Battery Park. The investigation hits a dead end, so Stabler seeks help from an old mentor, Dick Finley (James Brolin), a NASA astronaut and former colleague of the victim.

Hmmm, is this going to be slightly related to that crazy astronaut lady who drove across the country in a diaper?

If I was going to guess about the headline they are ripping from. That would be the one.

They did an episode ripped from that headline a few weeks after it happened. (Actually, that may have been one of the other Law & Orders)

I thought I heard someone in the preview say, something to the effect of "We got another astronaut in a diaper".

The most disappointing thing about that episode was the fact that they cast Chris Elliot as some kind of astronaut fanatic but didn't work SPEWY into the action anywhere.

That was honestly one of the worst episodes they have made in a while. I was happy that they at least mentioned the diaper incident.

Yeah.... I didn't think it was very good either. Certainly not as bad as last years "Vitrual Reality" bullshit episode.
I'm hopeful that next weeks episode is gonna be much better. From the previews it doesn't seem like the case is gonna involve any of the characters personal lives for a change.

Speaking of characters' personal lives, I'd like to point out that Stabler's son was named Dick Stabler, which sounds like "dick stapler" (as in "That bitch was a real dick stapler").

On tap for this week: Benson and Stabler seek Warner's help while investigating a case of a baby with AIDS, and soon the investigation points them toward a homeopathic doctor (Martin Mull) with questionable ethics who had prescribed ineffective vitamins for the baby. One can only hope that this weeks episode will be a lot better than last weeks. I got faith.

An informative Dick Wolf interview: http://www.tvguide.com/News/Law-Order-Dick-35349.aspxIt's mostly about the Original L&O Assuming I head out for some wings, I'll have to actually try to remember to record the new (original) Stories tonight.

This weeks stories... sandwiched between the presidential election (last week) and a YORSP gig (next week, though that won't stop NBC from showing stories), the episode description is rather brief and to the point: Stabler and Munch go to a high school to investigate the death of a student and come across a chastity club and a group of girls involved in a pregnancy pact. Max Matarazzo: Jesse McCartney.
