The Winter Beer Tasting has been set for Saturday, Nov. 29th at 7:30PM.  We will be featuring Winter seasonal styles along with some hard to find beers.  As always, your ticket includes 12 beer samples, an appetizer buffet, prizes and giveaways, and a 4-pack of your favorites to take home.  Tickets are still only $25 and go on sale this Thursday.

  We'll see ya there,
    Sidelines staff

How are you gonna have a winter beer tasting in the fall?

A dumb weekend to have it, if you ask me, Thanksgiving weekend - most folks that normally frequent Sidelines and their beer tastings will be out of town... including me, damnit

Is there already some kind of shit planned for that weekend?

Or am I thinking of the recent YORSP e-mails considering a possible show during Damian's visit the weekend after Christmas?

I thought someone mentioned some shit going on after T-giving.  My mind may be playing tricks on me though.

I can't think of anything off the top of my head that is going on that weekend.  I don't know if I'll have to go to Wheeling, but I probably wouldn't be there all weekend anyways.  Tentatively I'm going to plan on going to this.

Deena's aunt & uncle... and her parents will be there since her dad will be doing army training in TX at the time.  We're going cause it'll be the last time she can see her dad before he goes to Iraq for 6 months.  But it'll also be interesting to see Austin.

Yeah... I've heard Austin's cool.
But remember... only steers & queers come from Texas.

Austin ROCKS!  Love that city...  If you want some tasty BBQ, check out Stubbs.  And man, if you are in the mood for meat (it might be a tough sell for Deena), you owe it to yourself to go to Fogo De Chao.  One the best restaurants I've even been to.

Looks good, but I they also have locations in DC and Baltimore, so if we don't make it on this trip I'm sure we can in the future.

Austin is a really cool town.  Sean and I had so much fun when we went - there's live music everywhere!  Oh, and Fogo De Chao was one of the best experiences (and service) I've ever had.

Holy crap, they do have DC and Baltimore locations!  I'm so down with going there since it's closer to Pitt and having Fogo again.

Perhaps an outing to the DC/Baltimore area is in order?

Mayhaps with a stop at Flying Dog Brewery in MD on the way there or back...

There's actually a Dogfish Head Brewpub in Gaithersburg that I've been meaning to try when we're visiting Deena's parents...

Does having a kid that gets engaged to a mannequin maker qualify as a "family emergency"

He's not a mannequin maker.. he just sells mannequins.  Geez, you make it sound like it's some kind of odd profession or something.

Do you think he could make me a mannequin with ridiculously large "assets"?

You know, one with a great "personality"?

He might commission a mannequin made to look exactly like Deena's sister.  It would be a real life incarnation of a Seinfeld episode!
