BTW, did you know that President George W. Bush has referred to Pittsburgh as the “Knowledge City.”  He should know - he's smart and stuff.

I think either Rennie or Hite (or maybe Horak) started that shit. (With the famous "It's a Great Day In PittsSatansburgh" poster.)

So in Pittsburgh police are getting shot, and in Detroit they're breaking up pillow fights.. something's wrong with that picture.

Now this is some bullshit.  Those motherfuckers are crooked as hell.

It's good to see Doug Shields stepping up to the plate though.  Though I suppose I hope I never have to find out personally if his posting the number does any good.

You should see all of the cops on the Northside this morning. All of the out of town cops that are going to the Peterson Events Center are meeting in the lots by Heinz Field. It's like the tailgating before a Pirates game (not quite to Steelers level), but with cops drinking coffee instead of yinzers drinking beer.

Actually I believe that there is a police memorial somewhere down there on the shore between the parks.

Yeah... I seen that shit.  A multitude of flashing lights on the top deck of the Ft. Duquesne Bridge heading down the ramp toward the North Shore then all of them already on the North Shore.  Quite a sight.  There were a lot of them still trickling in on the Parkway East as well.  (The ones closer to downtown had their lights on, but the ones further out didn't.)

Speaking of which, the Parkway East was a complete fucking mess this morning.  Some crash at the mouth of the Squirrel Hill tunnel fucked traffic up for me, and there was at least 6 vehicle chain-reaction wreck inbound at the curve before the Oakland exit.
At least I'm not gonna be driving around town when they have all those roads closed this afternoon.

I freaked out when I got on the ramp to the bridge on the dahntahn side and this crazy black police SUV pulled up right behind me with its tinted windows and flashing lightbar on the bumper. I thought that my years as an outlaw had finally caught up to me.

Seriously though, when I realized what was going on I saw cops on the bridge from Chicago, Minneapolis, and Rostraver...

Yeah... I tried to note where some of the cars were from, but it didn't work out too well, as I was too busy paying attention to actually driving.

Yeah that turned me getting in to work 40 minutes early to me just getting in on time.

I heard that the traffic is gonna be messed up from 10 AM - 5 PM, which will only make the evening commute worse.

I was wondering what the hell was going on today.  I saw 10 cop cars in a row heading down 279 this morning on my way to work.

Looking at the traffic cameras, it appears to be a hell of a precession.
The lead cars are already in Oakland (via the Parkway East), while traffic is still pouring across the river from the North Shore.

Where are all of those cars going to park in Oakland anyway? I guess since they're cops the answer is "wherever the hell they want".

Probably something like that.
I'm glad I don't have cause to be in Oakland today, even more so than the other 364 days in the year.

On 5th Ave between Kraft and Bellefield, in the bus lane and the two lanes closest to the bus lane

Yeah they are all lined up in the bus lane.. can see em out the window.  Supposedly they will disperse by 4:30 but I'm thinking my commute home will be screwed up somehow.
