Well monetary value can be debated, but there is the whole sentimental value argument - which can be abused, but - if I had a lot of family heirlooms from my deceased relatives destroyed, then I would be pissed and expect to be compensated fairly... not to mention for the reconstruction of the structure - whether it happens or not. Also, the "living on the North Side" argument is bunk. There are many people who live in a crappy house/neighborhood, but have very valuable stuff inside. |
