I may or may not have tracks from the Ponce Solo Album on my computer. I'm not picking an ambiguous position on this, I simply don't remember if I still have them.

Can't believe there isn't a song in there about shopping at the now-defunct Centre Ave. Dirty Bird

I'm not sure that there isn't one.

I was accosted by a crackhead there on New Year's Eve, so I think it's still open.

Nope... it's been closed for a few years now.

That was certainly a big chunk of North Oakland's shittiness.

Though I do remember the one in Oakland being disgusting as all hell.

The one in Oakland was actually worse than the Cedar Ave... but they were both dirty (and the Cedar Ave. still is).

I don't know if it's mentioned directly, but there might be a reference to it in the song about getting the fuck out of Oakland.

Oddly enough it was ponce's response that kept my next post out of the gray area just this side of the nitpickery line.

I've not heard of them, and I didn't realize that the Park House had bands.  I had heard that they were doing some bluegrass jam session, though.

Well you can check out the bands website to see what you think. I haven't been there in forever and just thought it would be somethign different to do on a Sat. Night.

I guess it might also depend on whether or not the Pens are forced to play a game six as well, but I could be interested.

Looks like the Flaming Lips are coming back to town, though it's at one of the shittiest venues around here.

It looks like they are actually starting to get a bunch of decent bands to start playing in there.

Granted I haven't been there for years, but in the past it just seemed to be a parking lot that they put a stage in.

Hmmm I might be interested in this. I really enjoy the Flaming Lips, though their last album was really tough on the ears.

I saw Primus there several years ago, and it wasn't too bad. It's the same crap you'd put up w/ at any other venue in town (drunk/high yinzers).

It was also the best place that the Pittsburgh Folk Festival was ever held. They're since moved into convention centers (dahntahn & Monroeville), and its lost something by being indoors.

That's cool. I'm actually OK with that venue since I can take the T to and from Station Square without too much hassle.

Weird that it's on a Tuesday.  Might be an idea, esp. if I take off those couple of days after we get back from da beach.
