There will be a live performance of the song "The Mighty Guins" by Kardaz, and the Penguins' mascot, Iceburgh, will hand out T-shirts.

Looks like some band called Kardaz is getting into the novelty song business as well.

Wow. I hope that we're not still doing stuff like that after 10 years.

Actually, I can see Mr Devious playing a Steelers event in another 10+ years. By that point though Mr Devious will be a 40+ year old Ponce, and a bunch 20 year old kids that have replaced the rest of the band.

You mean Tombstone Michaels, who might be 20 in 10 years? (because that's the way he rolls).

So, since this is a novelty song thread, I thought I'd share my latest idea in my developing genre of "great surf songs matched with real-world events".

My last example was footage of the Tsunami with the song "Wipeout" playing in the background.
So, what about this one.. footage of the polygamist compound in Texas with the beginning to the song "Surf City" playing... specifically the first line which is "Two Girls for Every Boy"...

What about a new type of karaoke done like Saturday night with National Geographic providing the footage for improvised lyrics as a live band plays in the background?

No. It plays 78 rpm records you're looking for something to play 33 1/3 and 45 rpm records.

Depending on the condition of the player/records, $200 is probably a pretty good deal for an original Victrola

plus I read that the arms are heavy so it would wear down any records played on it from after 1929. Plus I bet some of those records are pretty cool.

$200 is right around what its worth... Unfortunately 78's aren't that valuable

Yeah... it'd definitely be more like an antique piece of furniture than a functional record player.

It comes with over 100 old 78's you could play those for awhile and if that other side flips up you could install a new multi-speed player in it... or something.
