Looks pretty decent... I have no knowledge of prices for that kinda stuff, but I would assume that $150 is pretty cheap. I'd give something like a few playthroughs before I bought it obviously.

It looks like it's only a half-cabinet, but yeah, it probably weighs a fucking ton. I wouldn't use it live, though, cause carrying synthesizers and a computer is just too much easier on my aged body. But imagine the big ass Conn plugged into that thing.. could be sweet. Problem is that I probably won't have time to go take a look at it this weekend, and it may be gone by then.

I guess it has a slow rotating drum in front of the speaker, so it would be similar to the bottom half of a leslie, and if the speaker doesn't say Jensen then it's an overseas copy of an alnico Jensen.
The amp would probably require a good amount of work to maintain, but the cabinet and drum rotor are the parts that I think are most important.
If the mechanics of it worked well you could replace that speaker with a 12in full range that can handle higher volumes, then pull the amp out of it and add an speaker jack. That way you take the weight of the amp out of the cabinet and you can run it on an external amp. Just add handles and you've got a somewhat functional portable rotating speaker.

If your going to that extant....why not just build a rotating speaker from the ground up? Get a 12"inch woofer and mount it infront of some rotating object made out of wood. A motor controller to change the speed would be easy, hell, gut a box fan and get a belt and pulley setup to reduce the speed. AKA. Who wants to pay zip to make a rotating speaker.

http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/msg/1922198505.htmlThis is pretty much a well maintained version of the I Worship Satan bass. It might be a different company (we'll never know because someone removed the company name from the IWSB), but all of these 70's asian guitars were made in the same couple of factories.

http://www.postgazette.com/pg/10267/1090036-388.stmDespite the fact I don't want to spend the near $50 (Actually, after fees & taxes & bullshit, I'm sure it will be more than $50.), I think I'd like to see him again. Since my brother is a student, I wonder if he bought the ticket for cheaper in advance for me, if I'd have to show some sort of student I.D. @ when using it at the show...?...

I wonder if you have to be a Pitt student, or if you can get discount tickets by just being a student in general?

I'm willing to bet that each student can buy a set number of tickets.. and I doubt that they'll be checking student id's at the concert.

I bought student tickets to see Dylan at the 'Merican Eagle show on the Sahsside two summers ago. They checked IDs at the gate, but my driver's license was good enough

Ponce - Here is that shit I was telling you about last night. http://ubuntustudio.org/Here is the info about getting the US-122L to work with it (which I understand none of). http://alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Module-usb-us122lI'm not overly confident that we'll be able to get the US-122L to work, but it would be cool if we can. If not then I'll probably look for a different USB Midi/Audio Interface that will work.

I can help with this if needed. I've used the US-122L on my Mac w/ the ALSA drivers before.

I found this site interesting. http://onehelloworld.com/People call and leave voicemails at this phone number and the guy who runs it writes songs for them. It's kind of depressing, but it's a unique idea.

So the parkhouse seems to be getting a lot of blue grass bands. Perhaps YORSP should go down and check out some shows to find some acts to perform with?
