Falls City Pub
112 Garrett St.
Ohiopyle, PA 15470

Come celebrate the 4th of July w/ YORSP in Ohiopyle!

http://www.fallscitypub.com

Looking for a campsite for the weekend over the next couple days (we'll probably head up Friday after work).  If you want in, post here so we get a big enough lot, or what-have-you.

Me and Felicia stayed at a cabin out there that I wouldn't reccomend, I'll try to get the name from her. It was okay, but the cabins were really close to one another and some trailers and the main road was a few feet away. Hearing rigs drive by every ten minutes takes away from the camp feel.

It will be interesting to see what kind of crowd there is since it's the 4th of July.

What's that like 75 miles each way? Shit, I don't know if I can handle that yet. My ass will be sore as a mother fucker.

It's a shade over 60 miles, but it's flat, so it's not too bad.

Keep in mind, too, July 4 is a Saturday this year.  So, I imagine most of folks have off on the 3rd.

I'm hoping I either get the 3rd or the 6th off.  That would suck if a July 4th on a Saturday = one less day off this year.

I'm really tempted to try this but I don't want to slow everyone down. The most of biked is probably into work, and sometime then I even needed to stop and take a break. Mostly because the trail is rough and hard to pedal and going over the 40th street bridge is steeper than it looks. After a while you usually get into that zen like zone then and things just stop bothering you. I don't want to get there and be too sore to move or do anything. My new seat seems to help some, perhaps if I by some special padded shorts. (I'm wering pants over them) then it won't be soo bad.

Yeah... there's gaps at Sandcastle, and I think around McKeesport, but from McKeesport to Confluence, the trail pretty much parallels the Yough.

The Great Allegheny Passage I think it goes all the way to DC. with only a 2% grade.

Looks like the safe bet is to start at boston and then go from there. I would be down for that perhaps. If you guys want to meet me at boston or just start there let me know. I really want to try this.

Looks like 74 miles from boston to ohiopyle. I didn't realize it but this is the same trail I ride on in west newton. It's pretty nice.

It is an easy ride, and you are right about the ass hurtingness of the ride. I have to wear my chode protectors when I bike that far

I don't have a clue what's around there.
Since it's the holiday weekend, we should probably try and reserve something soon.

We don't move that quickly on the ride, so I wouldn't worry about falling behind.  But, I do recall my ass being numb by the time we got down there.  But a couple beers once we set up camp made me forget all about that.  Definitely need the padded shorts, though.

There is another dog friendly place but it's primitive cabins and no bathrooms. I don't think Felicia will be up for that.

I really didn't think this place was great. But I know I can't talk felicia into staying somewhere without a shower.

http://leberslogcabins.com/prices.html

Cabins 2, 7, and 8 would probably be the better ones. Over to the right you are but up against rv's and trailers.

I believe that is what it said. Yinz should use that as the flyer if it still exists
