I'm still not sure which day I'd like to get down there as of yet...  Though as of now it seems like this weekend will be awesome, weather-wise...

Is anyone intersted in doing what Jon, D, and company did last year with their ride down the river?  It seems like it should be a pretty good time, and I'm going to try to find out today if I have to be here over the weekend.

Definitely a good time, although I guess cause the river was low when we did it last year, the raft was a bitch to paddle (I swear there were points where if we didn't paddle it felt like the thing was moving backwards).  I've been down the middle yough on a raft before and don't remember it being that bad though, so maybe it was just last year.  Or just rent kayaks.  And bring some beer.

Yeah, except I'm not sure how that'd work with having to get back, get ready, and then go and set up for the show.. how long did it take last year?

Yeah, Matt.. could have used you paddling a little more for that.  That raisin cake that Allison brought for the weekend, though, that guy could paddle
(just kidding, that dude dipped the paddle in the water like twice and spent the rest of the trip bumming cigarettes off of Danika and relaxing while the rest of us paddled)

That could be fun.  I honestly have no idea how much one of those would cost, however.

Kat and Morgan are headed down tomorrow (Friday) morning, and my brother and are I are going when I get out of work tomorrow. One more night of camping in really nice weather is worth it for me to drive the 2 hours down right after work. Plus with sunset not until 8:49 tomorrow night, that leaves a lot of time to get the tent set up as well.

I guess this won't affect this trip, but will no doubt suck at various times in the next 3 years
http://kdka.com/local/Squirrel.Hill.Tunnell.2.1784381.html

"We feel that by opening the ceiling a little bit higher and improving the lighting through the tunnel that hopefully less people will be less likely to hit the breaks when entering the tunnel," PennDOT spokesman Jim Struzzi said.

Yes Jim, we hit the brakes cause we are worried our sedans and SUVs won't clear the ceiling

I thought "hit the breaks" was some sort of electronic music reference.  Perhaps they are concerned about too many b-boys congregating at the beginning of the tunnel?

I think most projects are suspended cause it's the holiday weekend.  The Parkway East (which is currently shitty with traffic)  will most likely be down to 2 lanes from Churchill to the Turnpike.

This is the route I'm planning on taking... More just for ease of driving (especially on a nice day).

In camping at Paddler's Lane related news - When the rest of you folks got back from the show, did you guys hear those people at the "Car camping spot" being really loud and rowdy?

I don't think we were making too much noise, or at least I hope not.  I didn't notice them being rowdy either, though.
