The folks from Paddler's Lane emailed me today and were asking where we had camped out at - not because of anything we did - but to apologize for some of the other campers - the ones in the "car camping spot" specifically - being really loud at night. Robin (one of the owners) had said that she wasn't around for Saturday night past 10 PM but had seen those folks lighting off fireworks around then and then heard other campers tell her that they were yelling and dancing around a fire at 2 AM (though time is really a vague thing when camping since most folks rely on their cell phones for the time anymore, and they don't work up there).
I didn't think we were loud at all either night. I went to sleep right when everyone else got home from Ohiopyle and was able to fall right asleep. Anyways, she said that she knows it was the folks in the car camping spot being loud and what's more - I guess someone broke into the money box and stole all the proceeds from the weekend, and they suspect the same people.
Anyways it's just a shame that for such a nice place that is really only known about through word of mouth, that sometimes assholes find out about a place like that and act like idiots and steal - or leave their howling dog while they go get breakfast (different people but same lack of consideration for other people)
She said that she's probably gonna have to be more of an enforcer about after hours noise and unattended dogs (people leaving their dogs unattended while they go into town for breakfast is immature and irresponsible anyways) and that they're gonna get a little more secure way of collecting camping fees (I think I'm just gonna pay them in person from now on).
But other than that, she said that we were great and was glad to have us there again.

(Granted I was 95% baracho at that point.) What are they calling the 'car spot'? Is that the place across the lane where the Buffalo people were staying?

The "car camping spot" is the one closest to the main house. Most of us camped in it last year and this year it was the folks that had those three interconnected tent-shelters. It's called the "car camping spot" because its the only place where you are allowed to pull up your car onto the grass and camp with it (hang tarps off of it and whatnot) |

Hey all I know is your not allowed on the grass. I pulled in for a second to turn my car around (didn't realize the driveway was a big circle and the guy came running out at me like I was Frankensteins monster and he had a pitchfork. lol.
Sounds like you guys had fun, perhaps I'll make it next year.
