Unless Ukulizzy and Midge Crickett have alot of songs about Penises, then I think YORSP is winning the battle of the sexes.

When we originally booked this show it was Friday, March 6.  Saturday, March 7 I have to work 2-10, and I have to be at work at 7am the next morning.  In addition, that Saturday's daylight savings time, so technically I have to be at work at 6am. Friday (as we were originally told when we booked the show) would've been fine.  Saturday, obviously, is not.
I'll see what I can do schedule-wise, but that shit's not very easy to switch.

I'm pretty sure it was always proposed as March 7.  (At least the first e-mail I got about it back in the beginning of December has it as March 7)

We'll, I think we play from 11-11:45, so you could show up after work, play, and leave.  You've been through worse.

We'll probably set up our stuff first, since the first 3 acts are acoustic soloists.  I'm sure someone could set up the piano, etc for you.

All the emails say March 7.

Yeah... with the amount of acts, the set shouldn't be very long, so it shouldn't be a very grueling ordeal.  The 11-11:45 time slot is pretty sweet.

I'll grant him some bonus points due to the bullshit losing of an hour of sleep.  I used to hate that shit when I'd work the Sun. morning shift @ Mandy's.  Such a price to pay to offset the extra hour of sleep gained in the fall.

My shameless self-promotion -

////////////////////

Looking for something to do Friday night? Wino Riot will be playing what will more than likely be their "second to last show" at Peter's Pub in Oakland Friday March 6th - we'll be playing first, followed by Euphonic Brew - Show starts at 10:00 PM

Elliot Sussman, I drank with that guy at the parkhouse a while back. I told him about Shithouse and he wanted to do a show I think I told you guys that. Anyway this looks like a pretty cool show, who made the Flyer?

I going to guess that ukulizzy may have some songs about vaginas though.

Don't go that far- I'm not saying I won't play the show... I just got a little upset by the triple-crotch kick of realizing I'll have to work the night of the show, then work the morning after, then have to go in extra early because some people want daylight to last longer in the summertime.
The bottom line is I can play the show no matter what, but it's probably going to be a cool show so it'll suck if all I get to do is show up and play and then leave immediately and not defile myself in the true rock n roll manner that this show obviously demands.

Well.....you COULD just go super-rock-'n'-roll style and defile yourself without sleeping at all..... and just go into work still a little drunk.

Which works fine when you're working for James Street or Mandy's Pizza (& more).  But when you're gonna be in charge of a building full of 100 kids it tends to make it a slightly less fun experience.  Plus, I'm technically on call overnight to begin with.

So according to the poster, March 7th is "Cabin Fever Day".
I was unaware of that fact.

I believe it's fixed- I now have to work 7-3 this Sunday in exchange for not working next Sunday.  So after 10pm, it's self-defilement.

Word.
Just have to make sure Howler's doesn't try giving us a different slot that's earlier.

We've been asked to set up before people start, since we've got the most people / crap (the 1st three acts are soloists).

Well, if they do, I won't be there.  Also, it's never 100% certain that I'll make it out in time cause you never know when I'll run into a situation like last night when I had to call the cops on a kid and didn't leave until midnight.  That only happens once in a while, though, so I'm hoping that because it happened last night it won't happen next Saturday.

Can't you just sedate him, lock him in a room and call the cops later?

In which case that scenario can later be "ripped from the headlines" by Law and Order.
